Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Why did CrashPlan acquire Parablu?
Parablu has been working towards becoming a key player in the SaaS backup and recovery market, while also offering server and endpoint backup. At the same time, CrashPlan has been strategically working to become the only provider of data resilience and governance across all workloads in a single platform. Parablu’s backup and ransomware products are key pieces of that strategy, as are CrashPlan’s proprietary cloud and endpoint backup advances.
The Parablu acquisition enables CrashPlan to offer a complete cyber-ready data resilience solution that protects intellectual property (IP) and other data from accidental data deletion, ransomware, and Microsoft service interruptions.
Who is CrashPlan?
CrashPlan is a backup and recovery firm whose product is used around the globe by more than 900,000 users with clients that range from small local businesses to multinational enterprises with tens of thousands of employees.
Does the acquisition affect my current Parablu subscription?

I’m guessing at some point; things will change, and the technology will be integrated into CrashPlan. When will that happen?

How will Support work?
You will still receive the same great support you are used to.
What changes will we see as the companies combine?
Over the next few months, you will see Parablu rolled into the CrashPlan website. You will see the logo change. Parablu’s social media accounts will also be retired, and you can follow CrashPlan’s social accounts for all updates.
Will my data (that is currently stored with Parablu) be migrated? Where will it be stored and will CrashPlan’s proprietary infrastructures support it?
Your data will remain in the same data centers you chose when you purchased the Parablu products.
Does CrashPlan have the same relationship with Microsoft as Parablu?
The Microsoft relationship will not change. There are plans in place for the CrashPlan executive team to be introduced to Microsoft to continue to bolster the relationship that Parablu started.
