Softline’s annual CIO Summit in Sri Lanka was clearly THE place to be this past weekend. The team @ Parablu just got back from 2 exciting days in Colombo.
Parablu was proud to be a co-sponsor of the event as an ISV along with Microsoft. This was my first visit to Sri Lanka and I must say Colombo is a most welcoming place. The people were warm (as was the weather), the roads clean, the cuisine inviting, and the city safe. If you’re a first timer going to visit Sri Lanka, and think it is just like another city or state in India, I’d urge you to think again. Sri Lanka is a country with their own language, distinct culture and a proud heritage.
What was most exciting however was the time we got to spend with 45 of the most accomplished practitioners and leaders in the IT world. Softline billed this as a CIO summit and the invitees did not disappoint. We spend the most amazing couple of days with some of the best and brightest minds in the Indian IT industry!
This wasn’t one of those junkets where everybody took a weekend off to have fun. The audience was technical, the questions probing, and the discussions cerebral.
We went in wanting to validate our product suite and roadmap and we came back assured that we’re headed in the right direction. As organizations look towards Digital Transformation, they’re looking for security and cost optimization. Secure data management solutions like BluVault and BluSync powered by our Privacy Gateway – BluKrypt are indeed the need of the hour.
Parablu spoke to a clear and simple message. “If you’re an Office 365 customer and have OneDrive for Business, consider Parablu to help you utilize the storage in the cloud securely and effectively”.
Almost every CIO we spoke to was excited about the possibilities of using our BluVault, endpoint backup solution with OneDrive for Business to solve real issues like data loss, regulatory compliance and ransomware.
We’re extremely glad we could be at the CIO summit and have the good fortune of meeting so many industry stalwarts. We learned a lot during the event and from the interactions. Most importantly we made some great friends – who, whether we do business with or not, will be people we want to know and stay in touch with.
